What if it’s not actually dreaded conflict?

What if it's not actually conflict?

The dreaded conflict that gives us a pit in our stomach. Keeps us hiding behind delayed email replies. Skipping the meeting.

What if we could make it feel a little easier? For the situation and our digestive system...

A few years ago I taught the most magical 1-hour workshop of my career. (Hopefully, thus far.) I called it, "Do we misunderstand or do we disagree?"

As we explored that question and applied a few useful communication skills, I watched the shoulders relax in the room. The exhales got longer. There was even laughter. The conversations we'd been dreading maybe we didn't need to dread at all. Or at least quite so much.

So, when we're procrastinating on "conflict", let's find out what actually is conflict. What's not. What we care about. And what becomes possible together.

*** You know I love first conversations. Please message me to learn more.
